Day 19, (April 18, 2013) of our OAT's Turkey's Sacred lands and Ancient Civilizations Tour. Traveling from Adana to Taurus for the day we first stop at the Adana Archaeology Museum. This is our last day before returning to our home and travels
The Museum
Located in Adana, this is one of the ten oldest museums in the Republic of Turkey. It displays items from the regions including columns, column capitals, and sarcophagi. I only photographed a few pieces.
Lunar God
Mên is a Phrygian lunar god also connected with fertility, healing, and punishment. Characteristically, Men is depicted with the points of crescent moons on his shoulders.

Sarcophagi
This may be a standard sarcophagus model, not custom order. I saw a similar in the Archaeology Museum in Istanbul.
Tariffs
Common tariffs customs from centuries ago were "written in stone". These are for such things as grain, slaves and onions, I think. Nurdan read the Turkish translation for me, but I don't remember all of them.
This grave marker shows a man, a woman and a smaller figure--perhaps a servant or a child.

Jewish coffin
An unusual find--our guide said she had never seen one before--was a jewish coffin made from metal, probably lead with the imprint of a menorah inside.
